I tried to sell in a console and it was quoted £90 boxed by CeX a week later they said they regraded it and was giving me £37, I declined and cancelled and then they sent me the money for it and tired to keep the console, I said I would take legal action and then all of a sudden they are sending it back to me. A month or two ago I brought an iPhone SE, they send me a faulty one which randomly powered off, it took them 4 weeks to refund me, I ordered a replacement and the screen had terrible screen burns and ghosting and they told me that grade B includeds phones with screen burns and screen ghosting, to cut a long story short I am getting the phone repaired myself and then will bill them for it, if they refuse to pay the bill then I will take them to court.

They still use covid19 as an excuse to take 30 days to pay you or to refund you, that's if they will honour the warranty at all

I never shop at CeX due to how overpriced everything is, but the Clinic for console repairs seemed like it could be a great service, until I actually used it of course

After finding them through their website, and everything looking like what I needed, I went in store where I was told they weren't actually running the Clinic service whatsoever, even after emailing them before going! I had to email them to get them to put up a banner on their website to actually tell people they aren't operating, and so I would know when they were open again

When they finally opened, weeks later, I took my device in. I explained exactly what the problem was and the repair I needed doing, filled out their forms and gave them my console

They started working on my device days later than claimed due to nobody at the store sending it for a while if the tracking information is to be believed. A few hours later, they messaged to say they couldn't repair it and they're sending it back to the store. Which was infuriating. I had told them exactly what the issue is and yet only later they decided to say "we don't fix that issue", something they could have even told me weeks before and not wasted my time, but, it gets even worse...

It turns out they opened the device, breaking the manufacturers seal and replaced a completely irrelevant part that was working, which, due to the nature of it, now cannot be tested because my device is still broken. Them doing this needlessly has limited my warranty for a repair with other companies due to general policy, but, it gets even worse...

After receiving a message that my console was in store, I went in to collect it. Not sure why I expected more from them, but their incompetence shone through and they couldn't find my console. It wasn't there. So, after contacting support again they located the console and only due to me asking, agreed to courier it back to me instead of requiring a fourth trip to their store, 25 minutes away from me. I would assume this free courier back was an attempt to take some responsibility for their incompetence

I cannot recommend them for their store prices, and unfortunately can only recommend staying away from their Clinic repair service due to the risk of wasting your time and energy trying to deal with them. Just awful

More then any other company when selling an item . You go online even estimate anything before going in to store. Excellent and well manned staff at the e.port branch . Brilliant customer service from Sophie. Quick and fast process and bank transfer next working day . 100% recommend for selling to and buying from

Faulty headset

I ordered the headset online to collect in store and it was ready to collect within a couple of hours. Order and pickup were very simple and quick. However, got the headset home and it wouldn’t charge. I charged it all evening and night and it was still not charged the next day. I took it back to a store closer to me and they told me they had to do tests on it before I could get my money back. Those tests took over an hour and a half before they finally admitted that there was indeed something wrong with the headset. They issued a refund and the money was back in my account the next day. While the service at the two stores was both really good, it’s clear the headset wasn’t tested before being sold to me and so it was a massive waste of everyone’s time.

Online Items Cancelled Despite Stock

I'm more often an in-store customer of CEX, but have previously had only good experiences with the online store. This order, and several recent ones, have all been cancelled despite products being marked as in stock. About 12-24 hours, the products will come back into stock, so I'll place my order again. One of them has subsequently been dispatched. I've also made replacement orders on my partner's account, because I'm not really sure what's going on. It's a confusing and frustrating experience that undermines otherwise solid service.

Good for buying cheap stuff

They have cheapish stuff but because of that when you sell something you get Don't get as much compared to buying it.So sell when you need money EDIT my order came today and it was the right item and it made my day!

I had to buy online because

I had to buy online because, I originally bought from the Beaumont leys store but they store assistant mis sold a phone to me Then when I took it back within 30 mins because the app I require can not work on the phone, I was told I could only have a voucher. The phone I bought off the online store works but there is no examples of the grading system and you cannot see what you are actually buying online. I won't be buying from here again. I would have bought from eBay but I had a voucher for this store.

In stock items are out of stock...

My old Bose Quiet Comfort 25 headphones decided to break on me, but thankfully they were still under warranty and I got a refund really quickly, so thanks for that. I wanted to use the refund to buy another set so looked at CEX online at the available stock of Bose headphones, I chose the ones I wanted and clicked buy. Then a few days later j got the notification that the item was not available after all despite them being marked as 'in stock'. I tried again, and the same thing happened... bought and paid for an item marked as in stock but then a few days later, out of stock.So I thought I'd go for a more expensive pair, but this time, got them a few days later.That's one way of upselling I suppose. However, the headphones are immaculate for a 'B' Grade and work perfectly.
